Wed. April 27th - - Keynote Speaker, The Hon. Jay Dardenne, Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana, will speak on Multi-Culturalism in Louisiana.
Fri. July 22nd -– Keynote Speaker, The Hon. Tom Schedler, Secretary of State of Louisiana, will speak about new initiatives in his office to make doing business in Louisiana an easier process. Among other points, he will highlight GeauxBiz.com created to ease the frustrations that businesses have trying to find information about licenses and permits necessary for their operation. It is a starting point for customers to obtain information regarding which state agencies will need to be contacted for a variety of registration documents; you are able to go online and create a customized checklist for your individualized business. Secretary Schedler is very interested in getting to meet and work with the Latino community in Louisiana.
Mon. Dec. 5th – ANNUAL MEETING - Keynote Speaker, Jason Marczak, Director of Policy of the Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA) of New York City will present “The Economic Impact of Immigrant-Related Local Ordinances”. This analysis looks at local immigration-related ordinances in 53 U.S. cities and what effects those either restrictive or non-restrictive ordinances created – whether intentionally or as unintended consequences – on the business environment and economic growth of those cities. The findings were revealing and surprising in many instances. It is the first time that a hard statistical study of this kind has been done on the subject.

HCCL will be your emcee and present bands OTRA and JAVIER & ELEGANT GYPSY. Joining HCCL on the big stage will be Latin D-J’s “Potris” & “JC” of the new Spanish radio stations LA MEGA 107.5 & LA RAZA 830 on your dial! Come dance your feet off!

2011 Training Programs:
1) Workforce Training Development Program with Bilingual Access - 2011 marks our 4th year with this highly successful program, the only one of its kind in the State. Latinos learn soft skills on bilingual basis for job placement in the local economy.
2) NEW – starting in April 2011: Technical Assistance for new and existing businesses (focus on Latino owned) located in the affected storm parishes of Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike.
RADIO SHOWS: HCCL has shows on Spanish radio every week.
