Meet Maria Teresa Gonzalez

HCCL is pleased to introduce you to Maria Teresa Gonzalez, the Instructor/Case Manager and  driving force behind our bilingual workforce development training program since its inception in 2008.

Maria is a native of Cuba but grew up in Puerto Rico where she graduated from La Universidad Sagrado Corazon in San Juan with a B.A. in  Communications.  She moved to New Orleans with her family in 2006.

Maria is responsible for interviewing all applicants to our workforce development training program, determining their eligibility, enrolling them, helping them  to master the materials, coaching them to success, and then placing them in jobs. She understands first hand the many challenges of learning English and navigating a new culture and work environment. She  therefore connects easily with all of the adult learners who come to us with the hope of achieving their American Dream.  Our students are very fond of her and appreciate her patience and  her friendly yet professional manner.

While based at our Center on the campus of Delgado Community College along Airline Drive in Metairie, LA, Maria works closely with our Executive Director at the downtown New Orleans HCCL office to learn about the employment needs of area HCCL member  businesses.  She then works directly with those businesses to match our students to those needs and place them in those positions.

If your company is seeking bilingual employees, please contact the HCCL office by phone or email and it will be our pleasure to assist you.  Go to the Contact Us section of our website.
